Most boaters track their hours. Few track their calendar. If your outboard hasn’t hit 100 hours, it’s easy to assume service can wait. It can’t. Time on the clock matters just as much as time on the water, and skipping scheduled service is the fastest way to shorten the life of your engine.
Fewer Hours Doesn’t Mean Less Wear and Tear
It’s easy to check your hours, see you’re nowhere near 100 or 300, and decide service can wait.
Scheduled service reduces deterioration in engine oil, gear pumps and other components, and gives technicians the opportunity to catch small issues before they become costly ones. Addressing problems during routine service means getting back on the water with confidence, not breaking down far from shore.
