The Suzuki trade-in program allows customers to get value out of their older outboard, add a new outboard to their boat and support the pre-owned market, which encourages environmentally responsible recycling. Below are the steps to the trade-in program:
Step 1: Choose Your New Suzuki Outboard and Ensure Your Trade-In Qualifies
- Customers select a new Suzuki outboard
- The trade-in motor must be of similar horsepower to the one being purchased—within 50 HP difference
- Any brand of outboard is accepted for a trade-in, and it does not have to be a running motor
- Must be a 2-stroke outboard; 4-stroke will not be accepted
Step 2: Submit Trade-In Details
- The customer must have a photo of the trade-in motor installed on the boat, along with the serial number
- Note: Loose motor photos will not be accepted by Suzuki Marine, and the motor must be delivered to Gulf Coast Suzuki on the boat.
- Trade-in value is based off the horsepower of the new Suzuki outboard purchased
Step 3: Order and Approval
- Gulf Coast Suzuki submits the outboard order to the Suzuki Marine for approval
Step 4: Rigging and Verification of New Suzuki Outboard
- Gulf Coast Suzuki will install the new outboard and ensure it functions properly
- After installation, Gulf Coast Suzuki will take photo of the new Suzuki outboard installed on customer’s boat and submit to Suzuki Marine for verification.
Step 5: Recycling and Supporting Dauphin Island Sea Lab
Once approved by Suzuki Marine, the old outboard will be picked up and scrapped, and the funds received will be donated to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab to further support their marine research initiatives.
